
Anthony David Gonzalez was born 27 February 1976. He is an American football tight end. He played for 17 years with the National Football League. Regarded as one of the most outstanding tight ends ever, he is the NFL's all-time leading player in receptions and receiving yards by a tight-end, and is ranked third overall in receiving. Gonzalez's initial 12 seasons were played with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 1997, he was drafted in the first round. For the last five years, he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons. Since retiring in 2013, Gonzalez has served as an analyst for football on NFL on Prime Video and was previously with CBS Sports and Fox Sports.Gonzalez ended his career with 14 Pro Bowl selections, the highest number for a tight end and second in the history of the league and also received six All-Pros on the first team. Gonzalez was well-known for his strength and the ability to not lose a ball. He played in 272 of the 272 games in the regular season and only fumbled twice, on 1,327 touches. In the year 2019 Gonzalez was admitted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
